Two weeks ago I went up for the University of Oregon’s first ever TEDx conference — sponsored by the School of Journalism (woot!). Besides the conference being totally inspiring, I also got to listen to one of my favorite radio stations 94/7fm (or KNRK back in the olden days). I love 94.7 because, though they call themselves an “alternative station,” they do not play the textbook alternative music. Traveling to other cities and listening to their “alternative” music, you hear Nickleback and Green Day. However, in Portland, you get to hear good music.

While I was driving the 205 that Saturday night, an amazingly catching song came on the radio. Sadly, I missed the title of the song and when I texted in to get the last three songs played (ingenious invention btw) I was a little too late.

Singing the song in my head for days after the weekend, I was sure that I would never find the song I loved so much. However, luck was on my side. Just this last week a friend of mine said “Hey. Have you heard of Foster the People?”
